If you’re planning to travel abroad on a holiday or business trip, it’s important to check what vaccinations you need well in advance of your trip. Not only will particular travel vaccines reduce the risk of you becoming ill, they may also be mandatory requirements on entering certain countries.
Additional travel information can also be found on the Department of Foreign Affairs website https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice
Travel Advice: Whether you’re looking for a particular travel vaccine or you would like to consult us about an upcoming trip, our doctors can advise you on what vaccinations are necessary as well as inform you of any relevant disease outbreak that you need to be aware of.
We can advise you of mandatory vaccines, need for anti-malarial tablets for certain areas as well as giving you tailoring advice and prescriptions for travel medicines if required. We also provide a travel information pack.
Vaccinations: The most common vaccines required for travel throughout Asia, Africa and America include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio.
We are a designated Yellow Fever Certification Centre. If you are planning an extensive trip that requires this certification, which is a visa requirement for certain countries, make sure to bring your full itinerary to your consultation.
Note book early: Whilst we stock most vaccines, there can be a delay in ordering in vaccines from the HSE. Furthermore some vaccines require more than one shot, so try to make your first appointment a couple of months prior to your departure date.
Please bring with you any information about previous vaccines which you may have received elsewhere as this will inform our doctors regarding the vaccines you need for you trip.
